It’s Heart-Wrenching to Announce Passing of a Precious Soul, My Mentor, My Best Friend

ANTHONY, S.
Left for heavenly abode on June 24, 2017

You celebrated life, happily accepted challenges, kept upbeat spirit, were determined, enduring, inspirational, motivating and so much more!

You pioneered South Asian broadcast media in Los Angeles over four decades ago paving way for people like me, providing open forum with interactive media platform on live radio programs plus bringing first & only of its kind unique blend of Bollywood, Hollywood, Youth & Community television program. From promoting superstars to making stars by encouraging local talents, you gave your all without holding back - starting youth program and creating role models...giving a lot to the community without expectation.

I had most beautiful and uplifting life experiences with you. You are among the most influential people in my life - my guide & mentor who never hesitated to open your heart, mind and soul. We met live on radio in San Francisco…you became my mentor, guided me in broadcast media on radio and television… giving me opportunity to start an unbelievable chapter in my life. I will cherish your gift and will do my best to continue living your dream through India Waves Broadcast Network.

I attribute my success to you for I wouldn’t have accomplished if you did not hold my hand and guide me. You continued to give while quietly taking back seat… that’s how admirable you were. Despite your access, knowledge and experience, you were so realistic and even taught me to reach for stars but keep my feet on the ground...and I followed! You told me to count blessings and I was sure blessed with such a beautiful soul (you) in this life! I meant every time I told you that YOU were my lifetime achievement award!

You were full of life, energy and force yet so humble, calm and pragmatic...sharing your life like an open book, hoping for others to learn from them and you sure made a difference in many lives. You always stood up for what was right! You always said, “The harder you hit me, the higher I bounce!” You were hit hard...really hard and every time, you took it in stride rising above all.

You were too good to be true! You believed in sharing, caring and loving - shared all you had, cared for whoever you came across and loved without holding back. I simply loved your transparency in communication and reasoning to convince or get convinced. Your honesty, compassion, integrity & ethics reflected admirable traits of your personality.

Sometimes I am at loss for words and at other times, words are not enough. For what I have known you for over two decades, cannot be expressed enough as I am still absorbing. Your endurance was commendable, despite struggle with your health complications especially in past couple of agonizing months in hospital, you shared nothing but smiles with whoever you came across.

Legacy you leave behind cannot be summed up in words but reflects in your favorite song by Frank Sinatra "My Way

"And now, the end is near and so I face the final curtain. My friend, I'll say it clear, I'll state my case, of which I'm certain. I’ve lived a life that's full. I traveled each and every highway..and more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, I've had a few but then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do, and saw it through without exemption...

...The record shows I took the blows, and did it my way. Yes, it was my way!”

My dear friend Anthony, I cannot thank you enough for your role in my life is exemplary. I’ve lost my best friend. To me you were an angel and now you are among them. MISS YOU... A LOT!
